Confusion has set in...

What fun is being cool if you can't wear a sombrero?

Well, my day started out great. I finally make myself to get up, but I was early cause I thought it was later. But that was ok. So I go downtown to get something to fill my tummy, and I find a smushed up kitty. It was the black female one, which was more likely to be the mother of the black cat that lives inside now, and she was smushed in the midsection in a fashion that her kitty guts were spewed out all over the road, and her eye ball was pushed out of its socket from the pressure. At least it was quick. So I got something to eat and drink, came back and cleaned that mess up which was kinda sad. Worked on my boat for the day, put the chrome valve covers to it, did the hydraulic work except for one hose, because rather than use another union, the hose I had left was too short. It is all very nifty down below deck now. Hoses GALORE! I still need to get some hose clamps and tie up a few loose ends, but its spiffy. Tomorrow I expect to get pretty much everything completed down under there. So I get done with a project for the moment, and try and find a chrome oil fill cap and on the way there, I had myself an ice cream (black raspberry and strawberry on a sugar cone). I couldn't find a chrome cap that would fit my valve cover, so I forgot that, but I did pick up this safety toggle switch which I will use. I went back to the boat and did most of the hose work I previously mentioned. So then I get off work, at 6:30 ish? I don't know, the moments of the day all kind of blend together. So I went down to the dock, drove out on it and what do I see??? MY DINGHY WAS GONE! Boy that pissed me off. So I thought the Harbor Master took it because I hadn't paid my dinghy fee or something like that, so I go around town to the various spots where it could be.... but no dinghy. So I went to his house. Walked in on them while they were eating dinner and asked where my dinghy was. Well he didn't know, it was a shock to him and since he was eating with some people he asked me if I could wait like 45 minutes or so and then we could go out in his boat and have a looksie, because maybe the wind had taken it since someone untied it from the float. So I drove around, looked in a few places, didn't find it and went back to the dock to wait for him to show up. So when he got there, and walked to the dinghy float, he noticed that his oars were gone... Well now he was really interested. So he borrowed my oars *which I had in the truck* and rowed out to his mooring to get his boat. So he brings it over, I hop on and we go in search of the dinghy. We go into the little cove right next to the dock... no dinghy. We go by the big shipping docks... no dinghy. We go around the island... no dinghy. We did find something in the water though. It looked to me like part of an oil containment boom. Styrofoam wrapped with plastic. So we go over to the far shore. Skipping past the campground there... no dinghy. We go to the state park... no dinghy. We go on the back side of the state park, in the coves and such... no dinghy. Then on the far shore from the state park.... MY DINGHY! That was a really far way to row. Like a few miles. Why would ANYONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND ROW THAT FAR? Not even health nuts would row that far. So we proceeded to move in closer to shore, having to raise the lower unit so the rocks didn't smack it. We get close enough so I can jump off onto some seaweed covered rocks *which I was glad there were rocks under there, because the tide was going out and the seaweed floats at the surface, making it look like there is stuff under it, but sometimes there isn't* and I walked across those, into the water, back out onto some rocks, back again into the water *only like a foot high or so* and then onto shore, I walked up to my dinghy, flipped it over with a mighty bang *mostly because I was pissed someone had taken it and not really thinking about how much strength I should use to flip it over, and doing a bit too much force...* and there were his oars under there, as well as two life jackets still in their wrappers *that means they are new*. So I tossed all that stuff in there and started draging it down the rocky beach like thing we have here for shore, back into the water and getting deep enough to hop into the dinghy and row over to the boat. So I was happy I got my dinghy back, he was happy to have his oars back, and I got two life jackets! But one flew out on the way back to the dock, so I only have one left... but it's all new and stuff. Just one of those orange rectangular ones with the hole in it. So my shoes are soaked, which won't be fun for tomorrow with more boat stuff in store for me, but such is life. Any questions or comments? I might do the whole police thing tomorrow too, track down those sum bitches and kick em in da nutz!
